"Large Scale Spectacles on Small Scale Budgets"
Join Paul to explore how together we can create incredible large-scale spectacles on incredibly small-scale budgets. With what there is in the room, you will create one of musical theatre's grandest spectacles before becoming part of Pauls' world renowned 'Frying Pan Orchestra'.
Drawing on simple choreography, a sprinkle of imagination and a whole lot of 'selling it', get ready to amaze, astound and razzle dazzle 'em!
Paul O'Donnell is an artist who aims to expose the 'ordinary' in a 'spectacular' fashion. He is an Associate Artist at Birmingham Repertory Theatre, and Theatre Absolute, Coventry.
Pauls' most recent performance We've Got Each Other, the almost entirely imagined Bon Jovi musical, won the Audience Prize at BE Festival 2018 and the Audience Prize and Best Performer Prize at Young FITT Tarragona in 2018. The show has toured both nationally and internationally receiving critical acclaim.

In this laboratory we will work around the notions of 'translation' and 'interpretation'. It will be about creating a space in which it is possible to look at what happens in the "space between". Between a fact and its interpretation, between a fact and its translation in another language. Our experiments will use the languages of words, movements, and sound. How
do I receive an information, how do I give it.
We will look into different practices I use when I create, and how the practice could be a base when thinking about a new project. Transforming the practice to inform new ways of
Romain grew up in Marseilles in a French-Brazilian family. He is graduated in performative arts and design.
With his first solo work Elisabeth(2014) he inaugurate research on languages and translation.
In 2016, looking for an immersion into an unknown language, Romain travels to Japan and comes back with a collection of sounds. He creates the play Légende(2017) a conference about a fictional research on the language of birds.
Romain also writes performances in duo : The Vertigo(2018) with Lucie Lintanf and Previsão do Tempo(2019) with Daniel Pizamiglio.
