Who is it aimed at?
Aimed at proffesionals in the field of education, dance, art , or just curious people …
Segni Mossi is a research project born from the meeting between Alessandro Lumare (visual artist) and Simona Lobefaro (choreographer). Segni Mossi investigates the relationship between dance and the graphic sign: dance as different material, projection in the space, emergence of the emotional; sign as extension of the body, action, scent of experiences. We move into a certain dimension, which is about the exploration, experimentation, discovery, amazement. Segni Mossi's goals in the work with kids and adults are: valorize the sign and freeing it from any representative subordination; facilitate the awareness of the body and stimulate its motor and creative potential; explore the connection between the expressive qualities of the body movements and the expressive qualities of the sign; linger on the creative process rather than the result; consider the experimentation as a working method; gain confidence in oneself and in others through a cooperative dimension; develop the relationship with the group and the socialization by respecting and valuing the differences between every single one.
What is Segni Mossi training?
Two days full of operating ideas, there to experiment with kids, adolescents and adults, within the theatrical area, in the dance and in the art education. But above all, it's a practical experience in which to be involved, and besides it is a growth opportunity and personal enrichment.
Some of the themes that will be investigated during the training
Immediacy, continuity, the symmetrical and asymmetric, the jump, the fall and the constraint.
Some examples of practical proposal
relay drawings, marked out with a continuous sign through the collaboration of all the components of the group; "pass the ball" movements with different parts of the body; blind drawings, performed by following the sounds generated with movements by the other companions; sculptural groups: one sculptor shapes the components of the group until a collective sculpture is created; dance duo, about drawing and wiping out: gravitational drawings, tracing signs on a vertical plane using the off-‐axes of the falling body; the inside and the outside: exploring the small and the big spaces generated from other bodies; space drawings, signs traced in space and on physical surfaces without a solution of continuity. Moments of work will be alternated by moments of elaboration. That is necessary to deposit and internalize the experience and also to analyze methodological aspects. Moreover, we will dedicate some time to illustrate the choice, the use and the organization of the materials.
Simona Lobefaro comes from a multidisciplinary training. The pivot of her work are the dance and the performance. She is the choreographer of MAddAI, whose artistic route has always put in the center of the matter the unexpected, leading to open scenic choices, where the outcome is never obvious. She is part of the dance research group Sistemi Dinamici Altamente Instabili. As a trainer she conducts movement workshops for children in public schools and private structures; she gives research dance workshops for adults and she participates at training activities in Officina COREografica; Simona collaborates from years with Mus-‐e Italia Onlus – Roma.
